I'm a member of a Yahoo group that is for crazy quilters. One of the activities on that list to participate in is a round robin. Here's how it works.... I piece a 10" crazy quilt block and I send it off to a designated person and she stitches a couple seams and a patch and she sends it to the next person. Each month the blocks rotate to the next person, so every month I'll have a different block to work on. This is my first round robin and I'm anxious to begin. Here is my block before anyone works on it.
I will also send a booklet with my block telling my group who I am and what I'm going to do with my block. This particular round robin is a color study in blue and only blue is allowed on the block. That works great for me because when I get it back I'm going to frame it and hang it in my blue bedroom! Everyone gets to write in the booklet and often the ladies photograph the blocks they are working on so I might get to see it again before it is completed.
So stay tuned to see what happens to my block!!!

Kay what a fun, creative idea! Where do you find out about these things? Your block is going to be beautiful, I love your print choices. Have fun with this, and if you know of any other round robins, could you let me know? Not that I'm bored with nothing to do or anything.....!
What a great idea and how fun for you! Can't wait to see it finished!

hmmm....I don't quite get it. ??? As long as you do, though!! I get the drift and think it sounds really fun, especially as you 'get to know' the other crafters in the group! Have fun with it!
What fun it will be to see it in the end! I will definitely stay tuned! :-)
Kay, how much fun for you! And, how great it is that they are doing it in blue to match your bedroom! Enjoy!

You asked me about the cut out napkins....I haven't washed them yet...but the material looks and feels like it will wash well.....I have had napkins like that before and they came through the wash great....

Hi Kay,
Love your choice of blues and fabrics. I like to use cottons along with some fancy too, like dupioni, etc. I also love your style of piecing.. my favorite style. I stopped doing RRs with the Green Study, but would have loved to work on your blue. Oh well. If you'd like you can see my block and seams I worked in the Green Photos File. Did you hand or machine stitch? Machine stitching makes it look so clean and crisp, although I usually hand piece mine with running or back-stitches and alway press and trim each seam before the next one. That way.. it will help make it look almost like machine stitching. Looks like you did the same.. which ever method you used. Great job!!! Did you use a stabilizer or some kind of backing? I can't tell from your picture. All in all.. Beautiful block Kay!!
A Newbie friend...
Hugs, ~ Ing :)
