First Bouquet of the Season!

The weather was really nice today so I took advantage of that and raked leaves and did some garden clean up. There is not much going on with the gardens here in Central Pennsylvania yet, but I do have some crocus blooming and the daffodils are beginning to open, well just this one variety so far. I have other varieties that I enjoy but these are my early ones. I picked them and brought them inside to enjoy.

My mother rarely picked flowers to enjoy inside, she wanted to see them as a collection in her garden when she looked out her windows. I prefer to see them in a vase and will most likely have at least one vase full from now till the first frost. How about you? Do you have a new bouquet every week?

Hi Kay,
I'm so sorry you don't have any of those stores near you because if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be able to decorate my house so affordably. Maybe one day soon you could take a road trip and find some.

Hugs,
LeAnn :)

Kay, I love the bouquet and the pic as well. I really like the way you "frost" the edges of your pics too. To answer your question about a new bouquet every week? Please let me pick myself up off the floor from laughing! A new weed or dustball, maybe, but a new bouquet? Martha Stuart hasn't been around my neighborhood to "sprinkle" her fairy dust on my muse in that direction...just yet anyway! ha ha

ok....guess you can tell we're related! I DO have a new bouquet in my house nearly every week. But....I buy mine! As I type, I DO happen to have a few vases of hyacinths that came out of my flower bed. The bed was already established when I moved here and consists of hyacinth (now) and hostas (summer). hehe Hey....it's maintenance free!!

I DID look at a lovely bunch of tulips at a market today....but the price tag (for about 10-12 tulips) was $16.99! (Rowayton prices!!) My hyacinth was MUCH less expensive!

I'm with Adie....no fresh flowers here, every once in awhile. Your picture is just beautiful....

Hi Kay,

Love the bouquet of flowers...how springy is that! We like to see the flowers in our gardens but Steve does clip some and bring in to surprise me.
You'll have to check my blog...I think daffys are my favorties!
Best,
